Bantwal: Two persons have been arrested in connection to crude bomb explosion, which killed a cow at Chellangaru of Karopadi village in Bantwal on Octoner 19.
Sheenappa Naik(48) from Doomadka Pelathaje and Vinod Shetty(30) from Hallor in Hassan were arrested by Vittal police on Monday.
Earlier police had arrested Vijay John and Govinda Naik in connection to the case. With this the number of arrests has shot up to four. It is learnt that the accused had planted the country bombs to kill wild animals. After the cow owner Radhakrishna Moolya complained to the police, Govinda Naik was arrested and while interrogation he revealed that Sheenappa Naik used to make these country bombs with the help of Vinod Shetty to kill wild animals.
Police said that Sheenappa had earlier killed two wild boars in the last six months with the help of 6 bombs. But this time the domestic cow became the victim.
The operation was carried out by Vittal police inspector Koragappa Naik, Ananda Poojary and staff with the direction of district SP Bhushan G Borase and deputy superintendent of police Raveesh.
It may be recalled that a domestic cow belonging to Radhakrishna Mulya was killed after a country bomb planted to hunt down wild animals exploded last Tuesday.
