Kasaragod: In the wake of the rising untoward incidents, involving motorists being reported in the city, the district police have prohibited the use of two-wheelers during the night hours i.e from 10.30 pm to 6 am with immediate effect.
The ban was enforced from midnight of March 23 and will be applicable till further orders, confirmed District Superintendent of Police K G Simone.
The police arrived at the decision to prohibit the movement after it was observed that miscreants were employing bikes and other two-wheelers for unscrupulous activities at night.
On earlier occasions too, police have resorted to a ban on two-wheeler movement under similar situations.
