Police arrest two for running illegal slaughter house

Mangaluru: Two persons have been nabbed by Mangaluru North Sub-Division for prevention of cow theft, transportation and detection team lead Bajpe Police Circle inspector TD Nagaraj for running an illegal slaughter house at Addur near Bajpe, on Sunday, July 16.

Accused are Mustafa (27) and Abdul Majeed (23), siblings from Addur. The two are said to be wanted in as many as eight cases of cow theft and slaughtering, six of which are in Bajpe station limits.

The duo was running illegal slaughter house at Addur and used to mainly purchase stolen cattle from cattle lifters. Following credible information, police raided the spot and seized a Tempo, a Duster and a Ritz car and 16 cattle.

The two have been booked under IPC 411 and Karnataka Cow slaughter and cattle prevention act 1964.

Accused have been sent to judicial custody.
