Nine injured in road accident at Sullia

Mangaluru: In a tragic incident, nine people sustained sever injuries after a Tempo Traveller rammed into a drain retaining wall at Kankamajal Sullia here on May 19.

It is learnt that the accident occurred while nine people from Kundapur were returning from Velankani.

Immediately after the accident, the locals who gathered there managed to get the injured out of the vehicle and even the driver who was trapped inside and sent him to a hospital in Mangaluru.

Anita Dias (28), Archie Karvelo (51), Saviyan (2), Antony D Almeda (52), Antony Sandesh, Asis Francis, Sathish, Alice Rita, Jacob D'Souza were in the Tempo Traveller.

Saviyan, Anita Dias and Archi Karvelo sustained severe injuries.

It is said that all the injured were admitted to a private hospital in Mangaluru.

Sullia police have registered a case.
