Kasaragod: A robber involved in 15 burglary cases, nabbed recently by police escaped from their clutches during investigations at the armed reserve centre in Kasargod on September 25.
Youth Hanif , aged 27 , resident of Kadambady in Manjeshwar hoodwinked police and managed to escape. Hanif , an auto driver used to rob during night hours.
On September 9, he burgled the house of Ravindranath Shetty and escaped with 240 grams of gold, Rs 30000 cash and took away their car too which was later found abandoned near Panambur.
After the burglary, forensic experts confirmed the involvement of Hanif in the case and police nabbed him soon after.
With his escape, it is a major setback for investigations at the initial stage itself.
