Kasargod: A woman and a seven-month-old infant were found dead in a lake in Badur of Kumble Police Station limits on October 22 in a suspected case of suicide.
Shruti (28), wife of Padmanabha Rai and a resident of Badur Barebettu and her seven-month-old son Ayush are the deceased.
When relatives found both missing this morning, they started searching and found the bodies in a small lake inside their farm. The actual cause of the incident is unknown but relatives suspect suicide after finding the rear kitchen door open.
Kid Ayush was diagnosed with cardiovascular disease and police suspect that might have pushed Shruti into depression, ultimately driving her to commit suicide.
However, the exact cause of death will be known after the post-mortem.
Shruti’s husband, Padmanabha, employed in a cruise liner had visited the family five months ago.
Kumble Police have registered a case and the bodies will be handed over to the relatives after conducting postmortem at Kasargod General Hospital.
