Mangaluru: Karnataka Legislative Council chief Whip Ivan D’ Souza has demanded resignation of BJP MP Shobha Karandlaje for misguiding and misleading the centre.
Slamming Karandalaje for committing a major ‘mistake’ while sending a list of 23 Hindu activists, who were killed during last four years, in a letter to Union Home minister Rajnath Singh, Ivan said that Shobha Karandlaje has misled Union Home minister Rajanath Singh by tendering false information.
It may be recalled that Shobha Karandalaje’s list made mention about one Ashok Poojary as dead, while the truth is that Poojary had survived an assault on him.
“The BJP had the intention of provoking the people of the region for the sake of votes by putting out a long list of people killed in the region. But it stands for away from truth, ” he said questioning why names of Praveen Poojary murdered in Udupi, and RTI activist Vinaya Baliga, murdered by NaMo Brigade leader have not been included in the list.
On this occasion, Ivan D’Souza released a booklet showcasing his achievements during the last 3 yeras after he became the Member of Legislative Council (MLC)
Congress district president Harish Kumar, Deputy Mayor Rajanish, ZP member Mamatha Gatti and others were present.
