Mangaluru: The main door of the mini Vidhana Soudha, which was inaugurated on October 22 by chief minister Siddaramaiah, in Bantwal stood damaged when workers and locals tried to push their way into the programme here.
A large number of workers who had assembled here were seen jostling each other trying to gain access into the Mini Vidhana Soudha here, thus damaging the main door of the newly constructed building. The police had to resort to mild lathi charge to control the crowd, it is gathered.
The police, fearing a stampede-like condition kept the doors of the building closed to the crowd gathered here. Even MLA J R Lobo was unable to gain access into the premises and Udupi district in-charge stayed away from the fiasco by opting to remain in his car.
However, the incident holds mirror to the quality of work executed here.
