Mata Amritananadamayi to grace Amrita Sangama- 2017 in Mangaluru on Feb 23

Mangaluru: Satguru Sri Mata Amritananadamayi, well known as “Amma” is scheduled to visit Amrita Vidyalayam grounds near Sulthan Batheri, Boloor, here on February 23 to grace “Amrita Sangama- 2017.”

Thousands of devotees in and around Mangaluru and from other centres of Karnataka and outside the state are expected to be present to seek Amma’s blessings and embrace from this well known “Hugging Saint.”

A public programme has been planned in the evening where wheel chairs for physically challenged will be given away. In addition, distribution of three-coloured waste bins to schools as part of Amala Bharatam (Swachha Bharath ) campaign (ABC) has been planned. Pension for widows and senior women and women empowerment project titled Amritashri will figure during the programme.

Free AYUSH medical kits will be distributed to the physically and intellectually disabled senior citizens on the occasion.

Sripad Yesso Naik, Union Minister of State ( AYUSH Ministry) and P Vishwanath Shetty, Lokayuktha , State of Karnataka will be the chief guests. State Forest Minister and Dakshina Kannada District In-charge B Ramanath Rai, State Minister of Food and Civil Supplies U T Khadar, MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, MLA J R Lobo, MLCs Ivan D’ Souza and Capt. Ganesh Karnik and Mangaluru Mayor Harinath will be the guests of honour.

Canteen facilities, medical assistance and transportation have been arranged for the devotees taking part in the day’s programme.
