Numbeo.com, which brings out this ranking, places Mangalore, India in 48th position.

The cities are assessed in terms of quality of life index, purchasing power index, safety index, health care, cost of living, property price to income ration, traffic commute time, pollution index and climate index.

Among other Indian cties, Pune ranks 77, Hyderabad at 96, Bengaluru at 108, Gurgaon at 112, Chennai at 128, Delhi at 130, Kolkata at 138 and Mumbai at 139.

Mangaluru, which is considered as a vibrant hub for medical tourism ranks in the 12th position in the world leaving behind some the developed countries like Australia, UK and Japan. Mangaluru gets its ranking on the basis of skill and competency of medical staff, speed in completing examination and reports, equipment for modern diagnosis and treatment, accuracy and completeness in filling out reports, friendliness and courtesy of the staff, responsiveness (waitings) in medical institutions and convenience of location for you.

As far as quality of life is concerned, Mangaluru has left behind some of the most sought after destinations of the world like San Francisco and others. In the Asian continent, Mangaluru is charted in the second position, next only to Bursa in Turkey. Surprisingly even places like Dubai, Riyadh, Las Veigas, Cape Town among others.
