Mangaluru: Great work will take place in the world around us only when we tell ourselves that we have to live as ideal citizens and contribute towards building of nation, said renowned entrepreneur, philanthropist and Times NRI Global Award Winner Ronald Colaco.
Accepting a felicitation from Mangaluru Diocese at Bishop’s House, Kodialbail in the city on Thursday, August 17, Colaco, who was conferred a befitting title ‘Boro Samariyagar’ or ‘Good Samaritan’ on the occasion said that while it is his dream to work as much as he can for the welfare of the society, it is his beloved wife and late father who keep him steadfast on the path of service.
Meanwhile, speaking about Colaco, Shivamogga Diocese Bishop Rev Fr Francis Serrao HJ compared Colaco to a lamp that burns to brighten up the path of others.
“Just like a lamp that beams light to others, irrespective of who is benefiting from it, Colaco too has elevated himself to the position of a lamp and a ray of hope to many who have turned to him for help,” said the Bishop of Shivamogga lauding the valuable service done by Colaco to the society. He said that individuals like Colaco have restored people’s faith on humanity.
Mangaluru Bishop Dr Aloysius Paul D’Souza said that what makes Colaco stand out from the crowd is that he has helped human beings in need, without taking into consideration if the person seeking help is a Hindu, a Muslim or a Christian.
“He has served humanity and we need more and more such individuals who can simply respond to the pain of the people without taking into account any other aspect,” he said.
