Mangaluru: Recently a lady who arrived at the Mangaluru International Airport to board a flight to Doha was denied boarding pass as her passport was damaged/tampered.
Referring to the incident that occurred on March 10, Airport Director J T Radhakrishna, in a press release, said that it was later learnt that the lady had boarded the flight to her destination from Calicut Airport.
“The passport needs to be in a good condition in any case because it is the identity document issued by the Government authorities. In this case, the last page of the passport was damaged and there was no way that the lady could have been allowed to board the flight from MIA. It was later learnt that the faults were rectified and she took the flight from Calicut. In case of lapses, even the airline operator may have to pay heavy penalty,” said the release.
