KSRTC starts issuing bus passes for city commuters

Mangaluru: Bus pass facility for commuters in city buses by Karnataka Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) started on Thursday.

Commuters can avail the pass from today by remitting a monthly fee of Rs 600 which requires a renewal on monthly basis. The facility is available in 30 buses and the list includes 21 NURM buses also. The commuters can avail their passes either from KSRTC bus stand or KSRTC traffic control room located near State Bank.

To restrict the misapplication of the facility, KSRTC has asked the commuters to obtain an identity card pasted with their photograph on it by paying Rs 50. Users of the facility have to renew their ID cards every year.

Bus pass facility is available from State Bank to Mudushedde, Pilikula, Gurupura, Shaktinagara, Mudipu, Ganeshpura and other areas of the city limit. Meanwhile, commuters can avail the pass facilities in rural areas including Someshwara, Adyarpadavu, Mudipu, Bajpe and others.
