Mangaluru: The 58TH Ramnarayan Chellaram ‘Rotoquiz 2017’ was held in the city on September 17 at the SDM PG Centre auditorium.
The inter collegiate quiz being held for the second time in Mangaluru was organised by Rotary Club of Bangalore in association with the Rotary Club of Mangalore and Rotaract Club of SDM P.G centre and sponsored by Ideals Ice Cream saw a participation of 61 teams from 31 colleges of Mangalore, Udupi, Karkala,Moodabidri and Puttur.
Rtn Shailesh Shah from the Rotary Club of Bangalore was the quiz master. After preliminary written round, four teams were selected for the semi-finals.
BibaswanMallik and Daanish Ali Sayed of Kasturbha Medical College, Mangalore bagged the first place. Maitrey Deshpande &Rakshith Y.D of Nitte Institute of Communication, Journalism & Mass Communication Nitte secured the second place while Sundeep Kamath S and Nirbhay Shrikanth Badal of Canara Engineering College stood third and Shrikrishna and Shashank D of Alva’s P.U. College, Moodabidri were the fourth finalists
The first Prize carries a cash Prize of Rs. 10,000 and a trophy; second and third prize carries a cash Prize of Rs. 5000 each in addition to attractive certificates. The winning team will participate in the finals to be held at Bangalore on September 25.

Five Rotarians from Rotary Club of Bangalore, five Rotaractors from two Rotaract Clubs of Bangalore, 15 Rotarians from R.C Mangalore and Rotaractors from S.D.M & Besant P.G. Centre conducted the event.
