Mangaluru: On the row over the Kalladka incident and repeated untoward incidents in Dakshina Kannada, defending Minister B Ramanath Rai’s statements against Dr. Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat and his subsequent action, State Minister for Food and Civil Supplies U T Khader told media that as a district in-charge minister Rai had made sincere efforts with responsibility and the government had directed necessary measures giving a free hand to the police.
Also supporting the Rai’s statements against Bhat which went viral on social media, Khader said, “If Bhat wants peace, harmony and unity, why did he not oppose the stabbing incident in Kalladka. The person who stabbed the innocent is from a criminal background. Atleast Bhat could have condemned the incident. Instead he supported the accused.”
On transfer of SP Borase, Khader said Borase was good, sincere and a gentleman but he was not so proactive and stern. He is good for the areas where the crimes are too less but not for sensitive districts like Dakshina Kannada.”
Referring to state government’s crop loan waiver, Khader also insisted that BJP- led union government should follow suit with regard to debts from nationalised banks.
He also informed of the state government providing a permanent solution to the problem of kerosene oil to the fishermen. Khader said government had reserved a total of Rs 60 Crore per annum exclusively to provide kerosene oil to the fishermen on subsidy.
