Gross irregularities in regularizing Govt land, alleges Rajesh Balekallu at KDP meeting

Bantwal: Gross irregularities were committed while regularising  government land allotment to beneficiaries by forging documents at will, alleged nominated member during Karnataka Development Program (KDP) meeting in Bantwal on September 24.
Raising the issue during KDP meeting, nominated member Rajesh Balekallu alleged that, influential people have forged revenue documents and faked tahsildar and revenue inspector’s signatures to grab government land  and that many senior retired government officials are involved in these deals.

He said, the taluk level investigations failed to yield any result and there were plans to hand over the cases to Lokayukta. That attempt was foiled by revenue officials who refused to provide relevant documents, the member alleged.

District in-charge minister Ramanath Rai present during the meeting said that he will seek ACB probe and will instruct the deputy commissioner to investigate the matter.

Minister takes note of other issues during meet

Expressing unhappiness over the cancellation of BPL cards to many beneficiaries, the minister asked the  food and civil supplies department officials to submit a report on cancellation of BPL cards on account of higher electricity bills. He advised people to adhere to the recent guidelines to avail ration cards since many changes were brought into the system.

While briefing about the Dengue cases in the Taluk, District medical officer Deepa Prabhu said that out of 413 reported dengue cases, 81 were confirmed cases. However in the last 20 days no fresh incidence in dengue cases, she clarified.

The minister instructed agricultural and Horticultural department officials to distribute compensation amount to remaining areca growers who lost their yield to fruit rot diseases. He said, “Anganawadi centres should be provided with RTC documents and in each Gram Panchayat two acre land must be marked for governmental development activities.” He instructed CEO O Sudhakar to speed up the work on the waste treatment plant.

In the meeting, a decision was taken to host a special meeting with NHAI officials to construct new underpasses at critical points on National highway 75 near Narikombu and  Panemangaluru .

Many Zilla Panchayat, Tauk Panchayath and Gram Panchayath members from Bantwal Taluk took part in the KDP meeting. Several government departmental officials were also present during deliberations.
