Mangaluru: Eunice Britto(79), the former Mayor of Mangaluru breathed her last following brief illness here at a hospital on June 29.
Born to John Charles and Mary Nathalia Mathias in 1936, Britto was elected as the Mayor of Mangalore Municipal Council in the year 1993. She has also served as the Deputy Mayor.
After initial education at Lady Hill Victoria High School at Urva, she continued her studies up to SSLC at St. Joseph’s Convent, Chikamagalur and college (B.Sc) at Mount Carmel, Bangalore. Then she joined B.Ed. at St. Ann’s Mangalore in 1957. Marriage intervened in the same year and three children later she resumed her studies to complete B.Ed.
