Mangaluru: Fire put in a property to burn dry grasses, spread across the compound wall ultimately reducing to ashes a Maruthi Suzuki car that was parked nearby, on Thursday morning at Light House hill road in Mangaluru.
It is said that the car owner runs a shop near KMC hospital and he used to park his vehicle outside the compound wall, encroaching the footpath everyday before going to work, brushing aside the fact that it is a ‘No Parking’ zone.
However, on Thursday morning the adjacent property owners lit fire to burn down the dry grasses, without taking any precautionary measures. Fortunately, no casualties have been reported. Alert onlookers managed to push away another car which was parked close to this car, thereby averting larger damage.
