Mangaluru: BJP Dakshina Kannada District President Sanjeeva Matandoor, speaking on the attack to Income Tax department Office in Mangaluru by the Youth Congress activists against the I-T raid on Minister D K Shivakumar, said, “The attack on the IT office in Mangaluru by the Congress activists shows the culture of the party.”

Addressing the media here on August 4, he said, “Chief Minister Siddaramaiah had organised a Padayatra from Bellary against corruption and mining about fours years ago and also claimed that corrupt officers will be sent to jail. But today his cabinet minister is likely to go to the jail.

If CM is honest he should have welcomed the raid from the Income Tax department and proved that they are sincere. When I-T had raided the residences of Janardhana Reddy and G M Siddeshwar, Congress termed that it the victory of truth. But with regard to I-T raids on D K Shivakumar’s residence, Congress is terming it a conspiracy by PM Narendra Modi. The raids on D K Shivakumar’s residence clearly shows that the I-T department had done long term preparations after examining the facts and evidences. Congress wants to protect the interests of Gujarat Congress leader Ahmed Patil and D K Shivakumar but not that of the people in the state.”

He also alleged that Karnataka CM had destabilised the power Lokayuktha by forming ACB to protect selfish political interests.

Kishore Rai, BJP District Secretary, Ravishankar Mijar and others were present during the press meet.
