Mangaluru: Sullia police on Tuesday arrested a youth who made derogatory comments against Jesus Christ and Mother Teresa on Facebook.
The accused, Akshar Boliyamajal, was slammed after he commented on Facebook “F**k my foot Jesus Christ” besides posting lewd comments against Islam and Mother Teresa.
However, soon after a complaint was registered against him, he took to social media and apologised.
On Monday, September 12, Christian community leaders along with district Youth Congress president Mithun Rai and members and like-minded people filed a complaint with police commissioner T Suresh against Akshar for posting derogatory comments against Jesus Christ, thus trying to incite communal tension in the district.
