Mangaluru: With Indira Canteen setting its foot in state capital Bengaluru, Chief Whip Ivan D’souza has urged the Chief Minister to extend the same project to Mangaluru as well.
Addressing the reporters in the city on Thursday, D’Souza said that he has submitted a proposal to the CM in this regard recently and the CM has responded positively to the demand by promising to try his level best to make sure that the canteen makes its entry into Port City by November this year.
“It is an outstanding initiative by the state government and it should be brought to Mangaluru as well. I have submitted a proposal to CM in this regard. If the canteen is started in close proximity to government hospitals, it will be of great help to the poor and the needy,” he said
Meanwhile, attacking the state BJP leaders, D’Souza said that they have failed miserably to function as opposition and the proof to this is the fact that the BJP National leadership had to remind the state leaders of their duty.
“The BJP has no moral right to talk about the Congress party. The BJP has derailed and now that they have realised that they are running out of issues to fight, they have decided to start Vidhana Soudha Chalo campaign, that too at the behest of the national leaders,” he said.
