Centenarian freedom fighter Madan Master passes away

Bantwal: K P Madan Master, a teacher and an activist of the Quit India movement passed away at his residence in Perla here on Monday, March 27. He was 100.

Having been part of the nation’s freedom struggle with the likes of Mahatma Gandhi, Madan Master took to farming after returning from the freedom struggle. He also worked tirelessly for the implementation of land reformation act and also assisted many farmers to get land rights under the act.

Madan Master led an active life till lately and also actively participated in various Pro-Kannada organisations and co-operative Unions.

A true Gandhian, Master was felicitated on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti at the Gandhi Park, Mangaluru last year.
