Belthangady: In a bizarre incident, strongly hinting at someone having practiced black magic with the aim of claiming hidden treasure, things used for black magic were found near Gerukatte-Kaliyamerla here on Sunday.
Locals say that it must be the handy work of treasure hunters who must have been told by someone that if they perform such acts they can find treasury in the said spot.
The spot where this has been done is close to the residence of one Shivarama. When the family members ventured out, they found that a portion of land had been excavated and commodities like an ash guard sliced and sprinkled with turmeric and vermilion remained at the site. A rooster too was offered at the spot. The locals also found a blueprint. Shivarama’s family says that couple of days ago some unknown persons had even come near the spot in a car and on bikes but the family opted to ignore the same thinking someone must have landed on their backyard after having lost their way. Shivaram intimated the police and later registered a complaint.
According to the family, in the past an astrologer in the village had advised them against living in their home as there is treasure hidden in the same land.
With incident of this nature occurring, Shivaram and his family members are frightened.
