Mangaluru: The News Karnataka office received surprise guests on August 16: Rt.Rev Dr Henry D’souza , Bishop of Ballari and Fr. Victor Vijay Lobo, Director of Sandesha. They were warmly welcomed and shown around the office by senior members of the parent organization, Spearhead Media Pvt. Ltd. The directors present briefed him about the group’s activities and the progress made in the past four years. He was impressed by website’s content and the presentation, the recent issues of the Magazine Karnataka Today, and shared his impressions and expectations for the future with all the dynamic youngsters in the Newskarnataka team.
Addressing the News Karnataka team he said, though brains and guns rule the world now, in the days to come guns will be replaced by grains and all of us have an important role to play in future to serve the society as whole, especially the youth. He said its important for the media to stand for the truth, not to hurt but to improve the lot of society. He said the media is vital for transforming the society as a whole.
He said the church is supporting the Career Academic Program (CAP) to educate youth and prepare them to occupy top positions in public and private life. He shared his experience at World Youth Day 2016 in Kraków, Poland, Where 2 million youth gathered for the International event. He recollected people’s hospitality in a small European country and the life on every street, displaying vibrancy of youth participants during the biennial event. India with more than 60% youth in its population can attain greater heights in all spheres of life, as education is driving the progressive revolution that is taking place in the country, he pointed out. Education is not just a degree, but knowledge and enterprise he said, giving examples of youth who are doing well for themselves through their spirit of enterprise, hard work and willingness to learn.
