Mangaluru: Speaking on the encyclical Laudato Si to NYC delegates, Bishop of Calicut Diocese Fr. Varghese Chakkalakal exhorted them to love the nature, organise stage shows and prayers for the nature and importantly propagate it among the families and youth in particular.
In his session, “Promotion of Laudato Si” (Praise be to You) Bishop Varghese, mentioned few remarkable points regarding the various aspects concerning climate change, population control, importance of access to safe drinking water and gender differences.
Earlier a panel discussion on “ICYM & Me-Witness & Achievement” was held with Fr Joel D’Cunha, the first National President of NYC who moderated the session.
The panelists comprised of Jose Jacob, Aparna Babu, Prakash Lobo and Murphy John who shared their experiences on how ICYM moulded their life and about their achievements.
NYC delegates had a unique experience and opportunity to participate in Holy Eucharist which was celebrated in Syro Malankara Rite. His Eminence Baselios Cardinal Cleemis, President CBCI, presided over the Holy Eucharist.
Fr Charles Menezes, International Chaplian at IYCS, JECI conducted a region-wise discussion on “Evaluation of Last 3 years & Action Plan 2020”.
