Mangaluru: With the government deciding to discontinue the grants and aid given to two schools run by RSS Head Honcho Dr Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat, the RSS members had started off an online campaign named ‘Bhiksham Dehi’ to support the schools and as per sources lakhs of rupees have been collected in mere two days.

Sri Ram Vidya Kendra Kalladka and Sri Devi School of Poonacha in Bantwal was receiving funds through Kolluru Sri Mookambika Temple, which comes under the Endowment Department. But, with the government discontinuing this grant and also stopping the supplies under the mid day meal, Dr Bhat had sworn to continue feeding the students of the school even if he was forced to ‘beg’ for the cause of the kids. Keeping in sync with this, three Mangaloreans settled in Mumbai named Mahesh, Vikram and Vivek Mumbai started a campaign online and in two days the team of three could collect Rs 5.60 lac.

Chikkamagaluru MLA C T Ravi has donated Rs one lac through the online campaign, which is completely transparent. A rice mill owner from Urva-Mangaluru, Nandan Mallya has donated 500 kgs of rice for the cause.

The campaign aims to collect Rs 80 lac through the campaign so that the students of the two schools are fed sumptuous mid-day meals.
