Mangaluru: Following the brutal attack on Navaneet Shetty and Niranjan Bhat, both accused in the murder case of NRI and Udupi hotelier Bhaskar Shetty, in the district prison on September 11 by the Bajilkere Dhanraj gang members, the duo along with Rajeshwari Shetty, another main accused in the case have been shifted to Shivamogga jail.
Both Navaneeth and Niranjan had suffered injuries in the clashes and had to be taken to the Wenlock district hospital.
With their bail pleas overturned, the three accused have been lodged in the jail here for past several months. It was also alleged that they have been receiving special treatment.
Though the reason for the assault on the accused is not clear the prison officials may have taken the decision to shift them out of security concerns.
