Mangaluru: A 21-year-old youth was killed on Saturday night November 29, after the bike he was riding lost control here at Kalpane, Kulshekar in the city.
The deceased has been identified as Rakesh Shetty, son of Damodhar Shetty, a resident of Kalpane. The incident took place at 10.30pm, the police informed.
According to the police Rakesh lost control on his bike (KA19EH9555), the impact of the accident was such that he was knocked down on the ground.
It is also said that he apparently was hit by a large stone that resulted in his death. Rakesh died on the spot.
An alumnus of St. Aloysius College, Mangaluru, Rakesh Shetty was placed in Bengaluru recently. He also served as the president of All College Student Association in 2012-13. He is survived by father Damodhar, mother and two sisters.
A case has been registered in Mangalore East (Traffic).
