Mangaluru: A 22-year old man was stabbed by his school friends here in Balmatta on Friday. He was stabbed on his stomach and shoulder.
The victim identified himself as Muzambil, a civil engineer by profession. He is undergoing treatment in the private hospital.
Muzammil said that he was attacked by eight men in the bus over a trivial issue. One of them started passing provocative remarks about my community. When I reacted, all of them attacked me, while one of stabbed me twice”, he said and added that they were his school mates.
Police said that it was a trivial issue. However, Muzambil is yet to reveal all the details to us. Internal conflict could be one of the reasons behind the attack, the police added.
A case has been booked in the Mangaluru East police station.
