Mangaluru: Differences of caste and political parties do not come in the way of uniting Hindus of the country. The Hindus would come together irrespective of which political party they are from, to invigorate the status of the Hindu religion in the country.

This was the view ushered in by the South Karnataka Working President of Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP), M B Puranik while speaking at a program organized to unveil the invitation of the Bruhat Hindu Samajotsava (BHS) scheduled for March 1. The invitation letter was released by former Rotary Governor Dr Devdas Rai.

The VHP leader further said that, disseminations prevailing among castes in Hindu religion was detrimental to the religion. “The Hindus should work in the direction of eliminating the caste system.” He reiterated that  ideological differences existing between various political parties would not act as hurdle for the Hindus to work together to prosper the community.

He said the concept of organizing a Hindu rally was formed on the soil of Mangaluru in the year 1981. The coastal district’s idea turned out to be a lesson book for others who sought to mobilize Hindus, to emulate. He said, the VHP was not against any religion, while he maintained every child born on Indian soil was a Hindu. He urged the people of other communities to participate in the massive Hindu Rally for  which as many as 1 lakh people are expected to attend.

The BHS would be presided over by Padma Vibhushan Dr D Veerendra Heggade and Sadhvi Balika Sarasvati will deliver the key note address. Many Hindu saints including Vishwesha Tirtha of Udupi Pejawar Math will attend the function.
