Moodbidri: “Ancient dravida Tulu language has influenced Malayalam and other dialects on a large scale. But it has not come out as a adminstrative and instructive or academic language. So we need to support and experiment in tulu language”, said Hampi VV Dravidian Culture Study Centre’s, Dr A Subbanna Rai.
He was addressing the gathering after inaugurating a workshop on promoting Tulu organised by Karnataka Tulu Sahitya Academy and Alvas Tulu Culture Study Centre at Vidyagiri Journalism Seminar hall on September 16. “These seminars influence young minds in a meaningful way”, he said.
Karnataka Tulu Sahitya Academy President Janaki Brahmavara presiding over the programme said that there are lots of opportunities for research on Tulu language. “Having interest is not enough but there should be more study on it”,she said.
Moodbidri Tulukoota president Subhaschandra Padival, Alvas college principal Prof Kuriyan were the chief guests. Dr Yogish Kairodi gave introductory speech and welcomed the gathering. Nithesh Kumar compered the programme. Chandrashekhar Gouda rendered vote of thanks.
