Mangalore: Pranavananda Ramaswami, State Executive President of All India Hindu Mahasabha on Monday sought to know on why the Supreme Court has extended the bail to the 2008 serial bomb blast case prime accused Abdul Nasser Madani. The swami also said that he would write a letter to the court urging cancellation of bail and the re-arrest of Madani.
Speaking to the presspersons, he said keeping Madani out on bail is a threat to the country. “The government of Kerala has spent nearly 35 lakhs on Madani during his trial and outside. He is the person who mastered many terror attacks in the country. Granting bail to a person with such a history, is condemnable, he said.
“Instead of giving bail to the terror accused, the government must release those who are undergoing trial for over 15 years, he said and added, “When I was in Bellary jail for twelve days, I found more than 80 inmates in the jail are either sick or old. The government should release them”, he said.
He also alleged that ‘terrorists’ are visiting the accused in the hospital.
On appointing women priests
Swami Pranavananda said B. Janardhana Poojary of Kudroli Gokarnatha Temple is trying to be in the news by adopting what he claims as ‘revolutionary steps’. He is making mockery on the Hindu religious practices, he said. “I am not against women worshiping god. But, the temple must ensure that the appointed women have undergone the practices of Vedic traditions and maintain purity, he added.
