Mangaluru: As a fall out of the photo controversy at the Govinda Dasa College Surathkal, the (BCA) students who posed for the controversial photo were suspended from the college. The decision to suspend students involved was taken by the internal committee constituted by the college to probe the matter.
It is said that the principal of the college K Rajamohan Rao in a letter to the student welfare officer of Mangalore University conveyed the decision of the college to institute a probe committee. The committee comprises of senior staff members and director of administration.
The parents of the students were summoned on Monday. After deliberations with the parents and the students, the committee decided to keep the students under suspension the enquiry was complete. The principal informed the media that the photo had flared up communal sentiments in the college as well as outside. He informed that Riyaz, who posed in left corner, was not suspended from the college.
