Mangalore: The college principal of Government Women’s First Grade College on Friday July 25 allegedly did not permit the students to enter classes for being a part of a protest conducted by SFI.

On Thursday July 24, the local unit of Students Federation of India (SFI) held a protest against atrocities among women.

A large number of students from various colleges took part in the protest, and students of Government Women’s First Grade College also participated.

However, today morning when the students were on their routine to attend classes the principal of the college PP Joseph asked the students who participated in the protest not to attend classes, alleged the students.

It is also said that some students that came to the college after the protest, yesterday were also not allowed to sit for the lectures and the lecturers were advised not to allow them in, it is learnt.

SFI district president Nitin Kumar confirmed that the principal has not been allowing the students inside the college. However he also said that when he tried to contact the principal, he was not available.

Students claimed that the lecturers have not been allowing the students for lectures although once the media arrived at the college, the students were allowed for the classes.
