Mangaluru: Sri Ram Sene, an orthodox Hindu group, which carried out an infamous pub attack in 2009, has extended complete support to the Hindu Samajotsava (convention), which is to be held on March 1, in Mangaluru and has instructed its volunteers to maintain peace.
The convention is organized by Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Bajarang Dal to celebrate it’s fiftieth year of existence, since inception. It’s for the first time Sri Ram Sene is openly supporting VHP’s function in the city, after its chief Pramod Muthalik quit Rastriya Seva Sangha (RSS) to join Sri Ram Sene.
Confirming to the presspersons on Thursday about the first time support to VHP’s function, Anand Shetty Adyar, president of the pro-Hindu organization said that their volunteers are working round the clock to ensure the convention is successful.
Besides, we have instructed our volunteers to maintain peace during the Hindu convention. “There are over 5,000 volunteers in Dakshina Kannada unit of Sri Ram Sene and we have told them clearly to not to take law into their hands, Mr. Shetty said. He stressed that the Hindu convention should be held peacefully.
