Moodbidri: A meeting was held at the TMC office here on July 28, Monday to discuss the parking and traffic problems in the town and to find a solution to the same. Councillors, officials and police officials of Moodbidri took part in the meeting.
The participants in the meeting stressed the need to set up a road hump in a scientific manner on the Vidyagiri-Moodbidri road, parking arrangements from the market road to Padmavathi Kala Mandir and also to provide parking facility in the available government land for vehicles on the stretch from the bus stand to the TMC office.
Addressing the meeting, Circle Inspector Anantha Padmanabha felt mere putting up of parking sign boards will not solve the problem.There is a need to oversee the arrangements and create an awareness.
The meeting presided over by TMC Chairperson Supriya D Shetty was participated among others by Councillors PK Thomas, Koragappa, Suresh Kotian, Ratnaker Devadiga, Standing committee President, Abdul Basheer, Chief Officer, Sheena Naik, TMC engineer Dinesh and others.
Later they visited parts of the town and reviewed the changes in the parking arrangements of buses at the private bus stand.
