Mangalore: Pralhad Joshi, president of the state unit of Bharathiya Janata Party (BJP) on Sunday urged the state government to review its decision of rejecting the B.K Somashekhara report on the 2008 church attacks.
Speaking to the reporters, Joshi said the rejection of the report was one of the several instances of politics of vendetta resorted to by the Congress government. “We do not have any objection to taking corrective action as recommended in the report. We, however, strongly object to the rejection of the report in its entirety just because it exonerated the Sangh Parivar outfits, he said.
The cabinet’s rejection of the report and a proposal to constitute a fresh inquiry committee amounts to insulting the retired judge. The congress should have raised its objections when the commission was constituted and not now, he said.
He also alleged that the congress had been attempting to implicate the Sangh Parivar in many cases right from the assassination of Mahatma Gandhi, however the electorate have taught them a lesson, he added.
