Mangaluru: As many as 12 engineering students of Bengaluru including four girls, who were reportedly partying at a home stay in Maroli were detained by the Mangaluru Rural police on Thursday night. However, the police let them off with a warning, after informing their parents.
Police sources said that a few right wing activists called the police station on Thursday night and informed about late-night party at a home stay in Maroli. Based on the tip-off, the police raided the house and detained all the youngsters.
The source confirmed that the youngsters were students of an engineering college from Bengaluru. “After spending time in the beaches, the youngsters took the home stay to spend the night and were reportedly planning to go back to Bengaluru the next day”, the police told newskarnataka.com
After detaining all the youngsters, the parents of the students were called and informed about the incident. “One of the parents had come to the police station on Friday morning”, the police mentioned.
However, it is not sure whether they were partying in the homestay, causing disturbance to others. Its only learnt that the few activists, who live nearby, saw youngsters including girls booking the home stay and informed the police to take note of it.
No case has been registered in the police station.
