Mangaluru: In a new development in the students photo controversy, a girl who was suspended from the college on Monday for posing for the photograph, filed a complaint against her classmate Vinith for allegedly clicking and circulating the controversial photo which caused a student, Riyaz to be beaten black and blue by moral police.
Five girls including the complainant were suspended after an internal committee probed the matter. The suspension was reported to the Mangalore University following the action, it is gathered.
The Surtkal police have registered a complaint under Section 66 (A) of the Information Technology Act, which has stringent punishment. The girl said in the complaint that her classmate Vinith allegedly captured the picture and circulated it, causing it to go viral in the social media.
The police told the media that there was also complaint against Vinith and Ritesh for abetting the attack against Mohammed Riyaz.
