Kasargod: An accident near Mulleriya on the evening of Thursday November 27 claimed the life of a person while many others were injured.
The deceased has been identified as Vinayachandra (27) from Barikad. The injured were Gopi (28) from Cherkala Pady, Pratap Raj (35) from Shivamogga, Kumar (53) from Karadka and Kumar’s wife, Madhavi.
It is learnt that the group was traveling in a car, and lost control on a steep road bend at Poovadka. It is said the impact of the accident was such that the vehicle fell on the side of the road and hit a tree.
Gopi, whose condition was critical, was shifted to a hospital in Mangaluru. The others were admitted into a private hospital in the town by locals who rushed to the rescue of the people in the car immediately after the accident.
A case was registered at Adoor police station relating to the accident.
