Mangalore: “RSS ideology and ABVP principles have inspired me, if a person is really inspired by this ideology, he can serve the society better”, said the newly-appointed Nagaland governor Padmanabha Acharya.
He was speaking during the felicitation ceremony in the city, on Monday July 28. Padmanabha Acharya, who belongs to the region, was felicitated along with Kavitha Acharya by Sri Padmanabha Acharaya Nagarika Sanman Samiti at Sanghanikethan.
Addressing the gathering after the felicitation, Governor Padmanabha Acharya said that the North-eastern people are an integral part of India and I am overwhelmed at the opportunity to represent them.
He urged the people to adopt the north-east students for fellowship and provide them education which will help to foster good relationship.
Padmanabha Acharya also said that there are various threats that the north-east part of India is facing especially from China, and bangladeshi migrants. “India requires strong borders. It is all done very silently”, he said.
Vinay Hegde, chancellor of Nitte University also addressed the audience during the occasion in the presence of MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, M Padmanabha Pai, correspondent of Canara Engineering College and others.
Dr MB Puranik, Mangalpadi Naresh Shenoy, Ganesh Rao Hundi, Prabha Kamath, Nagaraj Shetty, Dr Y Bharath Shetty, Krishna Palemar and others were also present.
Visit to Shree Venkatramana Temple
Earlier, the same day, Padmanabha Acharya after swearing in as the 19th Governor of Nagaland, visited Shree Venkatramana Temple in Car Street here in the city.
Governor P B Acharya was accorded a warm welcome at the entrance of the temple. The religious head of Venkatramana Temple Narasimha Acharya blessed the Governor, his wife Kavita Acharya and ADC to governor Major K K Gautam. The Governor was felicitated with a shawl by the temple trustee.
