Miscreants wreck Hindustan Builders office

Mangalore: A group of miscreants entered Smart City Office, belonging to Hindustan Builders and broke the glass panes with wooden bats at Thokkottu late at night  on September 30 and escaped.

According to the employees, who were still at work during the chaos, one person was waiting near the bike while the other two  engaged in the act. After the incident, the trio escaped from the spot.

Ullal police have registered a case. However the reason behind the attack is not yet known.

Reports claim that a person who owns many textile shops in Thokkottu had purchased a few shops for Rs 1 crore in a building being constructed by the Hindustan group.

The agreement showed that the person was supposed to get a certain number of shops although as the market rate of the shops increased the builder reportedly went back on his word and gave fewer shops.

Thus it is speculated that the businessman allegedly hired a few rowdies from Kallapu, Kumble and Manjanady and threatened the owner of Hindustan Builders.

Soon, the businessman too began receiving threat calls from Ullal and some rowdies from Mangalore. After four months of battling, the two parties finally reached a settlement recently.

The police is still investigating.
