Mangalore: The Mangalore Press Club celebrated Vanamahotsava on Friday July 25. The celebration was an initiative of the Dakshina Kannada District Working Journalists’ Association.
Mayor Mahabala Maarla planted a sapling in front of Mangalore Press Club along with Dakshina Kannada District Working Journalists’ Association president P B Harish Rai.
The mayor addressing the gathering said that under the ‘Green Mangalore Project’ we and other organizations are planning to make Mangalore a green city. He also informed that plans for setting up gardens in and around the city, will be initiated in the coming days.
Environment engineer S M Madhu, Mangalore Press Club president Ramakrishna, forest conservator Dr Sanjay, assistant forest conservator Abbas, forest officer J Clifford Lobo and others also gathered on the occasion.
