Mangaluru: The MCC officials and the representatives of the city held a review meeting here, at MCC building on Saturday April 25.
The meeting chaired by the Mangaluru South MLA J R Lobo, he attended to the situation of early arrival of the rains. He ordered the officials to work effectively during rain hazards. A team from health, revenue and engineering department should be kept ready to deal the situation with humanitarian angle, he said.
Last year rain conditions were worst, if it repeats, I would visit the place myself. Official should concentrate more on Kodialbail, Hoigebazar, Bajal and Bundar areas,” he added.
Addressing the meeting he also said that there should not be any delay in issuing no violation certificates for constructions without any violation or for minor reasons. If there is any technical problem, bring it to the notice of the commissioner, but if this trend continues I would talk to the Urban Development Minister and replace all DPOs with civil engineers,” he warned.
Land acquisition for UGD can be done under Right of Way Act and officials need not sit helpless without continuing development works, he said.
Mangalore City Corporation Commissioner Hephsiba Rani Korlapati, Mayor Jacintha Vijaya Alfred, Deputy Mayor Purushotham Chitrapur, Dharmaraj of Infrastructure Development Foundation, Corporator Shashidhar Hegde were present among others.
