Mangalore: The Srinivas Institute of Management Studies, Mangalore, conducted a national level PG management festival, ‘MAGMA 2014’, here on Tuesday September 30.
MAGMA – 2014, was delivered under the theme ‘IndeAvenir’ which described Impeccable, Invincible, and Indigenous India to recognize the potential of future India.
The event was inaugurated by CA A. Raghavendra Rao – President of A. Shama Rao Foundation along with Bhagawandas Rai, Senior executive at Creative Media plus Technologies, who is also an ex-student of the college.
After inaugurating the event, Bhagawandas Rai addressed the audience. He remembered the old days and cherished that the event is still uplifting the management students.
He lastly expressed his gratitude for inviting him to the event.
In his presidential address, CA A. Raghavendra Rao said that the business scenario today is fast changing and the organizations that are capable of surviving competition at global level can only survive.
However contemplating it with the PM Modi, he said that in the governance of the present PM, India may witness better leadership and exceed in the upcoming year. He also correlated it to the effective leadership qualities an individual from a management background must hold.
Moreover he congratulated the student for organizing such an event and said that the spirit of competition is important for students to excel and such events do the purpose likewise it is also important to remember the prominence of fellowship and the spirit of unity, he added.
Dr PS Aithal, principal of SIMS delivered the welcome speech and introduced the event and the dignitaries on the dais while the vote of thanks was given by Joel, the students’ coordinator.
A Srinivas Rao, Professor Priti Jeevan, Professor Amith Menezes and others were present during the event. A large numbers of students from various colleges also participated in the event.
About the MAGMA – 2014
With the view of providing an opportunity to students to learn, by practice, the challenges of organizing and team work by putting the managerial skills that they have learnt into practice, Srinivas Institute of Management Studies (SIMS) organized ‘MAGMA 2014’ a national level PG management fest.
The competitions held during the fest are as follows: Pre Launch –on innovative ideas of entrepreneurs, Play Store – on downloading knowledge and the ways of sharing it, Talent Wheel – Strike the deal, that would display the promptness of the competitors, Hub Mark – Re-invent yourself, The Vault – Time to unlock the treasure, Show Stopper – May way to the Supremo and other such competitions.
Spectacular bike stunts will also be organized as part of MAGMA – 2014 an intercollegiate PG-level (MBA and M Com) management fest.
