Kasargod: The road repair work around Kasargod, Kanhangad and Chandragiri have been put on hold due to landslides in the area, on Wednesday July 16.
Heavy rains have caused these landslides because of which commuting in the area has become a major issue. Moreover vehicles got stuck and the movement had to be suspended for long hours.
Reportedly more than 20 houses located by the side of the road are at a risk of buckling and suffering heavy damage. Roads at places like Chaliyangod, Valapothu, Kotarima and in their vicinity may also sink.
Development works of this road had been undertaken under Kerala State Transport Project at an expense of Rs 139 crore.
