Mangaluru: Ibrahim Kodijal, who is serving as the president of Dakshina Kannada district Congress committee will take charge as the chairman of Mangaluru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) on Friday, March 6. The state government passed the order on Tuesday.
According to the notification, his tenure is for 18 months or until the government gives instructions. Earlier, deputy commissioner, A B Ibrahim was officiating as the chairman of MUDA, as the post was vacant.
Known as social worker, Kodijal joined Indian National Congress in 1969 and took responsibilities in various capacities. Earlier, he served as the director of Karnataka Urban Water Supply and Sewage Board.
Ibrahim Kodijal said that he will be resigning from the post of president of DK congress committee. He also thanked District in-charge minister B. Ramanath Rai, Health Minister U.T Kadher, Minister Abhaychandra Jain, MLA J.R Lobo, Ivan D’Souza and Mohiddeen Bawa.
