Mulki: Public caught a car which had rammed into another car here at Ksheerasagar Petrol pump in Mulki on September 21 late night.
The incident took place when three students hailing from Mumbai and Manipur were heading towards Manipal from Mangalore airport. Reportedly, a Scorpio which was in high speed rammed into their car and fled. Soon bike riders behind their car saw the Scorpio fleeing and chased them down. The Scorpio was parked in a garage near Karnad Bypass and the driver had managed to escape. But they caught hold of other person in the vehicle and informed the police.
The eyewitnesses said that airport car driver’s presence of mind saved the students with minor injuries. Driver turned the car towards right side otherwise the Scorpio might have rammed into the car.
It is learnt that both of them in the Scorpio were returning from a poultry stall and reportedly they were also drunk.
North traffic police came to the spot and a compromise was reached. No case was registered.
