Mangalore: Clashes erupted between two groups of  students at the University College, Mangalore on Saturday over student election, which took place in the month of July.

Every year, the election for the student’s council turns out to be a battle between groups supporting the NSUI and ABVP. This year, the candidate who represented ABVP became the president of student’s council, according to Rakesh, a student of journalism.

However, the relationship between the two groups was not all well after the election. On Saturday, the sour relationship ended up with physical fight between the two groups.

The police arrived at the spot and took the students to custody.

Both the groups filed complaints against each other in Pandeshwar police station, after which an FIR was lodged against 10 persons.
