Dead body found on board of a lorry: Nanthur

Mangaluru: The police found the dead body of an elderly man on Saturday on the board of a stationed mini lorry near Nanthur.

The identified the deceased as Ashok (60), who is said to be the lorry cleaner. The body was wrapped in a thick blanket. The driver of the lorry is still at large, the police said.

It’s learnt that the inter-state mini lorry from Hariyana had stationed at Himalayan transport agency near Nanthur a few days ago after transporting plywood to Kerala.

On Saturday, few people sensed nasty smell emanating from the stationed lorry and informed police. The body was shifted to Government Wenlock Hospital for post-mortem.

A case of unnatural death has been registered at Kadri Police Station.
